1/3 HiWi position: Robotics Software Engineer
We are looking for a software engineer to join our team in the development of computer vision and motion generation software stacks for our Franka Panda robot as well as our dual-armed mobile manipulator robot: the Tiago++.
Scheduled tasks
- Developing software in Python or C++ for robot vision and motion generation,
- Creating Python and ROS interfaces to the motion generator and perception pipeline,
- Running tests on the real robot in the lab,
- Helping in the integration of the software stack into machine learning pipelines to perform challenging manipulation tasks.
Requirements These are ideal points, but most importantly you should have a will to learn new skills.
- Knowledge in robotics or control or vision
- Good knowledge of C++ and Python
- Good knowledge of ROS
- Experience with simulators (e.g., Gazebo, Bullet, Issac, etc.) Master students in Computer Science, Autonomous Systems, Control and Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related topic are preferred.

2/3 HiWi positions: Tutors for the Intelligent Robotic Manipulation Course
We are looking for tutors to work with our teaching team for WiSe2023 on the course: Intelligent Robotic Manipulation.
Scheduled tasks
- Test practical and coding assignments before we announce them, in coordination with the teaching assistants.
- Answer questions in Moodle, in coordination with the teaching assistants.
- Assist in the correction of the assignments. Pass grades in Moodle.
- Help maintaining lecture notes, and restructuring the course slides assisting the Lecturers.
Requirements
- Knowledge in Robotics – ideally you have followed our course or relevant one before.
- Good knowledge of Python or ROS

3/3 HiWi positions: Robotics software engineer for dual arm teleoperation and shared control
We are looking for a robotics software engineer to join our team, collaborating closely with our partners at the Intelligent Robotics and Biomechatronics Lab, Nagoya University, Japan, in the development of a teleoperation system for our dual-armed mobile manipulator robot: the Tiago++.
You will be part of a team working on:
- Testing robotic teleoperation and perception pipelines,
- Developing software in Python or C++ for telerobotics and shared autonomy using optimization techniques,
- Creating Python and ROS interfaces for VR-based human-robot interface, control, and perception pipelines,
- Conducting real-world tests and experiments on the Tiago++ robot, both at Nagoya University and in our own laboratory,
- Helping in the integration of the software stack into a teleoperation pipeline, enabling remote execution of challenging manipulation tasks.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of robotics or computer vision or control,
- Good knowledge of C++ and Python,
- Some knowledge of ROS. Master students in Computer Science, Autonomous Systems, Control and Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines are especially encouraged to apply.
