HiWi Jobs (new!)

We occasionally have HiWi positions for students of the TU Darmstadt. If you are interested in one of the opportunities, please use the designated form.

1/3 HiWi position: Robotics Software Engineer

We are looking for a software engineer to join our team in the development of computer vision and motion generation software stacks for our Franka Panda robot as well as our dual-armed mobile manipulator robot: the Tiago++.

Scheduled tasks

  • Developing software in Python or C++ for robot vision and motion generation,
  • Creating Python and ROS interfaces to the motion generator and perception pipeline,
  • Running tests on the real robot in the lab,
  • Helping in the integration of the software stack into machine learning pipelines to perform challenging manipulation tasks.

Requirements These are ideal points, but most importantly you should have a will to learn new skills.

  • Knowledge in robotics or control or vision
  • Good knowledge of C++ and Python
  • Good knowledge of ROS
  • Experience with simulators (e.g., Gazebo, Bullet, Issac, etc.) Master students in Computer Science, Autonomous Systems, Control and Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related topic are preferred.

Application If you are interested, please send your application through the form following the requirements for the HiWi positions. Starting date: As early as possible (Posted on Aug 11th, 2023)

2/3 HiWi positions: Tutors for the Intelligent Robotic Manipulation Course

We are looking for tutors to work with our teaching team for WiSe2023 on the course: Intelligent Robotic Manipulation.

Scheduled tasks

  • Test practical and coding assignments before we announce them, in coordination with the teaching assistants.
  • Answer questions in Moodle, in coordination with the teaching assistants.
  • Assist in the correction of the assignments. Pass grades in Moodle.
  • Help maintaining lecture notes, and restructuring the course slides assisting the Lecturers.

Requirements

  • Knowledge in Robotics – ideally you have followed our course or relevant one before.
  • Good knowledge of Python or ROS

Application If you are interested, please send your application through the form following the requirements for the HiWi positions. Starting date: As early as possible (Posted on Aug 11th, 2023)

3/3 HiWi positions: Robotics software engineer for dual arm teleoperation and shared control

We are looking for a robotics software engineer to join our team, collaborating closely with our partners at the Intelligent Robotics and Biomechatronics Lab, Nagoya University, Japan, in the development of a teleoperation system for our dual-armed mobile manipulator robot: the Tiago++.

You will be part of a team working on:

  • Testing robotic teleoperation and perception pipelines,
  • Developing software in Python or C++ for telerobotics and shared autonomy using optimization techniques,
  • Creating Python and ROS interfaces for VR-based human-robot interface, control, and perception pipelines,
  • Conducting real-world tests and experiments on the Tiago++ robot, both at Nagoya University and in our own laboratory,
  • Helping in the integration of the software stack into a teleoperation pipeline, enabling remote execution of challenging manipulation tasks.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of robotics or computer vision or control,
  • Good knowledge of C++ and Python,
  • Some knowledge of ROS. Master students in Computer Science, Autonomous Systems, Control and Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines are especially encouraged to apply.

Application: Please send an email with your CV to kay@robot-learning.de or georgia@robot-learning.de.

Organization:
